Marita works behind the scenes and will be in contact to schedule your first lesson. She also teaches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Marita wants her students to love music! She strives to spark curiosity and excitement around music education through positive and engaging piano lessons. Seeing her students enjoy the learning process is highly important for her and she likes using creative methods to teach piano. She sees her role as an instructor to provide guidance, support and encouragement while students explore and are involved in the music they enjoy.
Marita likes to see her students having fun while learning and teaches music theory and rhythm through a variety of games and especially getting everyone involved during partner lessons.
She believes everyone learns best when they have a clear vision of what they want to achieve and can work towards this in a supportive, relaxed environment. A successful outcome for her would be to see students leave each of their lessons feeling inspired and with growing confidence as a musician.
Marita was also taught in partner lessons while in primary school and learnt all the way up to her grade 5 exam alongside another girl. She doesn't see why music lessons should be a solitary activity as she benefitted from having lessons with another student. The lesson format took some of the pressure off, allowed little breaks between playing for her teacher and sharing the experience with someone her age made the journey much more memorable.

Liz has taught the piano since 2013 and has conducted music lessons in small groups as well as private lessons . She sees it as a privilege to be able to walk with young learners through this musical learning path and believes music learning should be fun and participatory to all learners. Liz believes children should be exposed to piano learning through various methods and incorporate their kinesthetic, aural and visual senses. She has completed certified courses in the Orff Schulwerk and Dalcroze teaching methods, which both hold the premise that music is best learnt as a whole-body kinesthetic experience, not just with the fingers and brain. In her lessons Liz likes to combine a lot of 'off-bench' activities such as singing, moving to music, clapping and using percussive instruments.
Liz loves to listen to all kinds of music, however has always found herself indulging in the Hungarian romantic composer Liszt’s compositions.
In her spare times, she enjoys being outdoors and goes bush walking with her family.
Liz teaches at the studio on Saturdays.
