I strive to spark curiosity and excitement around music education through positive and engaging piano lessons. Seeing my students enjoy the learning process is highly important for me. I like using creative methods to teach piano and see my role as an instructor to provide guidance, support and encouragement while students explore and are involved in the music they enjoy. I want my students to love music and form a passion for life!
I believe everyone learns best when they have a clear vision of what they want to achieve and can work towards this in a supportive, relaxed environment. As a piano teacher, I set out to help each of my students create their own goals and provide them with guidance to reach their full potential as they learn piano. A successful outcome for me would be to see my students leave each of their lessons feeling inspired, empowered and confident as a musician.
I offer students the opportunity to do practical and theory examinations through AMEB. Exams can be a great tool for progress as they outline specific criteria a clear timeframe to meet goals as well as a great achievement to show for your progress and hard work.
My teaching philosophy
Inspiring joy and creativity at the piano to create avid pianists for life!
Favourite Composers for the Piano
I lean towards composers from the Romatic Era like Chopin, Brahms and Schubert and I'm also fond of modern 'minimalist' composers including Ludovico Einaudi and Max Richter.
