Marita

Meet Marita – Your Piano Teacher and Founder of Collaborative Keys

Marita is passionate about inspiring a love for music in every student she teaches. Her piano lessons are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and make learning music a truly enjoyable experience. She believes that music education should be fun, engaging, and tailored to each student’s interests.

With a creative teaching style, Marita brings music theory and rhythm to life through interactive games and activities—especially during partner lessons, where students learn together in a collaborative and relaxed setting. She believes that learning music with a peer can be less intimidating and far more memorable, as it allows for shared experiences, friendly encouragement, and a sense of fun.

Having experienced partner lessons herself as a child, Marita knows firsthand how valuable this approach can be. She remembers enjoying the energy, variety, and connection that came with learning alongside another student. It’s this dynamic and joyful learning environment that she now aims to recreate for her own students.

Marita sees her role not only as a teacher, but as a guide and encourager—someone who supports students as they explore their musical interests, set goals, and grow into confident musicians. Her ultimate goal is that each student leaves their lesson feeling inspired and excited to play more.

When she’s not teaching, Marita enjoys spending time with her family, heading to the beach, and catching up with other local parents at the playground.

Marita will be in touch to schedule your first lesson and currently teaches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

She’s looking forward to helping you or your child begin a joyful musical journey!

Mikaela

Meet Mikaela — Your Piano Teacher
Originally from Melbourne, Mikaela moved to Sydney to pursue her passion for music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she completed a Bachelor of Music (Performance) in piano. With over seven years of teaching experience, she has worked with students in both private and group settings, sharing her love of music and performance.

Mikaela’s teaching style encourages body awareness and freedom of movement at the piano. She helps her students to explore and understand their own learning processes through self-enquiry and discovery. Her lessons often include musical games that make theory and technique both engaging and accessible.

Outside of teaching, Mikaela enjoys making music with friends, relaxing at the beach, and watching movies.
You can find her at the studio on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

An-Pin (Liz)

Meet Liz — Your Piano Teacher

Liz has been teaching piano since 2013 and has conducted both private and small group music lessons. She sees it as a privilege to guide young learners along their musical journey, and believes that music education should be fun, engaging, and accessible to all.

Her teaching philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach to music learning—one that includes singing, full-body movement, and instrumental play. Liz believes children learn best when they engage their kinesthetic, aural, and visual senses. To support this, she has completed certified training in both the Orff Schulwerk and Dalcroze methods, which advocate for music to be experienced through the whole body, not just the fingers and brain.

In her lessons, Liz incorporates a variety of 'off-bench' activities such as singing, moving to music, clapping rhythms, and playing percussive instruments to create a rich, multi-sensory learning experience.

While Liz enjoys listening to a wide range of musical styles, she has a special fondness for the romantic works of Hungarian composer Franz Liszt.

Outside of teaching, Liz enjoys spending time in nature and often goes bushwalking with her family.
She teaches at the studio on Saturdays.
